Electric mobility in Austria Scenario 2020 and 2050

The use of electric vehicles is currently the best technological option to achieve carbon-free individual mobility in the long term. The report by the Federal Environment Agency examines the achievable potential of electric vehicles in Austria up to the years 2020 and 2050. The starting point for the scenarios are optimal economic and legal framework conditions for the introduction of electromobility in Austria. The comparison of demand and supply shows that approximately 4% of the Austrian vehicle fleet can be electrically operated by 2020. By 2050, this share could grow to around 74%.
