Functionalized Dienes: A New Series of Potential Agents for the Treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease

We report a series of functionalized dienes as compounds of great potential in the treatment of Alzheimer’s disease due to their antioxidant activity and ability to inhibit the enzyme acetylcholinesterase. The dienes tested showed high enzymatic inhibition capacity and accentuated antioxidant activity, which are comparable to or higher than the standards tested. Molecular docking studies were performed to confirm the experimental results. We also describe the correlation values between the antioxidant activity and oxidation potentials. Predicted bioactivity scores and quantum studies were also determined.本研究报道了一系列官能化二烯烃（functionalized dienes），鉴于其具备抗氧化活性与抑制乙酰胆碱酯酶（acetylcholinesterase）的能力，此类化合物在阿尔茨海默病（Alzheimer’s disease）治疗领域具有极高应用潜力。经测试的官能化二烯烃展现出优异的酶抑制能力与突出的抗氧化活性，其效果可与参比标准物媲美，甚至更胜一筹。本研究通过分子对接（Molecular docking）实验验证了上述实验结果，同时报道了抗氧化活性与氧化电位之间的相关性数据。此外，预测生物活性评分以及相关量子化学研究结果均已得到测定。
