Lab 3: Distance based dataset of birds

Collected data based on the number of birds, type of birds and the frequency of the sighting of each species of bird that were observed within a 5 minute period at each line transect. The location of the closest bird away from the line transect and the distance of the birds on the line transect were estimated and recorded to the closest meter. Five line transects were placed at random locations at both the grasslands and woodlot habitats at the Seawell woodlot and the grasslands east of Stong Pond between the times of 2:30pm and 5:30pm on September 30th, 2014. The wind speed was also estimated and recorded by utilizing a Beaufort scale.本数据集基于每条直线样线（line transect）在5分钟观测时段内记录的鸟类数量、鸟类种类，以及各鸟类物种的目击频率完成采集。研究人员估算并记录了距样线最近的鸟类位置，以及样线上鸟类的距离，精度精确至1米。2014年9月30日下午2:30至5:30期间，研究团队在西威尔小片林地（Seawell woodlot）的草原与林地生境，以及斯通池塘（Stong Pond）东侧的草原中，随机布设了5条直线样线。同时通过蒲福风力等级（Beaufort scale）估算并记录了现场风速。
