Thomomys bottae, Botta's pocket gopher, is broadly distributed across the western U.S. and northern Mexico where it occupies almost all available patches of friable soils from sea level to above timberline. Within California, T. bottae occurs statewide except for the high elevations of the Sierra Nevada and Modoc Plateau. This species is not of conservation concern, and samples in this bioproject are broadly distributed over the entire state.. These data have been produced as part of the CCGP. Sequencing was conducted with HiFi Pacific Biosciences long reads at UCDavis Genome Core, Dovetail's OmniC libraries, and Illumina sequencing at UCBerkeley QB3 Genomics Core.
