Dataset for Molecular systematics and biogeography of a new rheophilic species of ghost electric fish (Porotergus: Apteronotidae: Gymnotiformes) from the eastern Guianas

We report mitochondrial and nuclear DNA sequences from Porotergus maroon, a newly described rheophilic species of ghost electric fish (Gymnotiformes: Apteronotidae) from the eastern Guianas in Systematics and Biodiversity, and from Porotergus duende for comparative purposes. Partial mitochondrial fragments of cytochrome b (1051 bp) and 16S rRNA (525–527 bp), as well as a nuclear fragment of the recombination activating gene 2 (rag2, 1192 bp), were obtained from voucher specimens housed in the Museu de Zoologia da Universidade de São Paulo (MZUSP 131371) and the Muséum d’Histoire Naturelle de Genève (MHNG 2780.037). Sequences were generated by Sanger dideoxy sequencing and assembled in Geneious Prime v2025.2. The new mitochondrial and nuclear data contribute to an ongoing phylogenetic and biogeographic study of Porotergus, clarifying lineage boundaries and evolutionary relationships within the genus across the eastern Guianas. GenBank accession numbers will be available as soon as the current government shutdown is over.本研究报道了发表于《系统学与生物多样性（Systematics and Biodiversity）》的新描述嗜流性幽灵电鱼（ghost electric fish）物种——栗色Porotergus（Porotergus maroon），该物种隶属于裸背电鳗目（Gymnotiformes）无背鳍电鳗科（Apteronotidae），产自圭亚那东部；同时本研究还获取了用于对照分析的精灵Porotergus（Porotergus duende）的相关序列。本研究从保存于圣保罗大学动物学博物馆（Museu de Zoologia da Universidade de São Paulo，编号MZUSP 131371）与日内瓦自然历史博物馆（Muséum d’Histoire Naturelle de Genève，编号MHNG 2780.037）的凭证标本中，获取了细胞色素b（cytochrome b，1051 bp）、16S核糖体RNA（16S rRNA，525–527 bp）的线粒体基因片段，以及重组激活基因2（recombination activating gene 2，rag2，1192 bp）的核基因片段。所有序列通过桑格双脱氧测序法（Sanger dideoxy sequencing）获得，并在Geneious Prime v2025.2软件中完成序列组装。本次新增的线粒体与核基因数据，将助力Porotergus属当前正在开展的系统发育与生物地理学研究，厘清该属在圭亚那东部类群的谱系分界与演化亲缘关系。当前美国政府停摆尚未结束，相关GenBank登录号将在停摆结束后尽快公开。
