Bacterial Species Are Associated With Pleural Catheter Colonisation and Infection

Indwelling pleural catheters (IPCs) are used to manage pleural effusions, but use is complicated by infection. Though Staphylococcus aureus is a common pathogen, the microbiology of colonisation (bacterial growth without infection) and its relationship to infection is poorly understood.留置胸膜导管（Indwelling Pleural Catheters，IPCs）常被应用于胸腔积液的临床管理，但其临床使用常受感染并发症困扰。尽管金黄色葡萄球菌是此类感染的常见致病菌，但针对导管定植（无感染状态下的细菌增殖）的微生物学特征，及其与后续感染的关联，目前仍知之甚少。
