SADC_PROFISHBLUE _ The Digital Fisheries Information System (FIS) Zambia Survey data set

This metadata form provides a description of the household dataset for the Digital Fisheries Information System (FIS). Zambia study that was conducted in the Luapula and Southern Provinces. The study was conducted from 31st July to 24th August 2024. The Programme for Improving Fisheries Governance and Blue Economy Trade Corridors (PROFISHBLUE) in the SADC region was funded by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and implemented by the Southern African Development Community (SADC) secretariat. The program consisted three components: genetic improvement, nutrition, and a digital fisheries information system (FIS). The FIS component, which is the focus of this survey data, aimed to identify climate risks affecting aquaculture and fisheries in Malawi and Zambia to develop a climate-informed decision support system. This survey identifies the impacts of climate change on fish farming and capture fisheries, the adaptation strategies, and the use of weather forecast information among fish farmers and fishers. In Zambia, the study was conducted across four districts in Luapula and Southern provinces, targeting 500 respondents, including fish farmers and artisanal fishers. Below is a summary of the respondents’ categories for each subsection (tool) presented in this dataset: • A total of 537 men, women and youth participated in the survey; • 215 from artisanal fishing, and • 322 participated in fish farming. The questionnaire had two modules one for artisanal fishing and one for fish farming. Lastly, the dataset has a ‘main datasheet’ and 23 subforms/excel sheets. The subforms were generated from repeating questions, and each repeating question has one or more parent QID number which links it to the main datasheet (main QID).本元数据表单旨在说明赞比亚卢阿普拉省与南部省数字渔业信息系统（Digital Fisheries Information System, FIS）家庭数据集的相关概况。本次调研于2024年7月31日至8月24日期间开展。南部非洲发展共同体（Southern African Development Community, SADC）区域内的渔业治理与蓝色经济贸易通道改善计划（Programme for Improving Fisheries Governance and Blue Economy Trade Corridors, PROFISHBLUE）由非洲开发银行（African Development Bank, AfDB）资助，南部非洲发展共同体秘书处负责实施。该计划包含三大组成部分：遗传改良、营养保障与数字渔业信息系统（FIS）。本次调研数据的核心聚焦于FIS模块，其目标为识别马拉维与赞比亚境内水产养殖和捕捞渔业面临的气候风险，进而开发基于气候信息的决策支持系统。本次调研旨在明确气候变化对水产养殖及捕捞渔业的影响、适应策略，以及水产养殖户与渔民对天气预报信息的使用情况。在赞比亚境内，本次调研覆盖卢阿普拉省与南部省的四个区县，计划受访对象共计500名，涵盖水产养殖户与个体渔民。本数据集各子模块（工具）对应的受访对象类别汇总如下： • 本次调研共计537名男性、女性及青年参与； • 215名来自个体捕捞渔业领域； • 322名参与水产养殖活动。本次调研问卷包含两个模块，分别针对个体捕捞渔业与水产养殖场景。本数据集包含1份“主数据表”与23张子表单/Excel工作表。子表单由重复问题生成，每一项重复问题均配有一个或多个父QID，用于关联至主数据表（主QID）。
