Bog protection program Part I of 1981
In 1981, a total of 88 high bogs in the lowlands were recorded in Part I of the Moor Protection Programme, which are significant as peat deposits and have a high importance for nature conservation. Predominantly, industrial peat mining was carried out in these bogs. There is information on the areas valuable for nature conservation from a national point of view, differentiated according to the categories “most valuable area — no fermentation”, “cancellation taking into account the objectives of nature conservation” and “to strive for ongoing or completed destortion regeneration”.
