Safflower (Carthamus tinctorius L.) is one of the most extensively used oil crops among the world. However, little is known about its compounds synthetization at the genetic level. In this study, the de novo transcriptomes, which consist of 153,769 unigenes, were obtained by performing Solexa-based deep sequencing on seed, leaf and petal of safflower, respectively.

红花(Carthamus tinctorius L.)是全球范围内应用最为广泛的油料作物之一。然而,目前对其化合物合成的遗传调控机制仍知之甚少。本研究分别针对红花的种子、叶片和花瓣开展基于Solexa的高通量测序,成功获得了包含153769个单基因簇(unigene)的从头转录组(de novo transcriptome)。
