Ushabti UB-006 (Beckers Ushabti Collection): Usurped wooden ushabti with inscription

Version 3 (v3) provides a substantially revised and expanded documentation of Ushabti UB-006 (U-412), including a fully redesigned bilingual (German/English) archaeological documentation PDF and improved rendering of the preserved hieroglyphic text. UB-006 is a large painted terracotta ushabti with a white preparatory layer (engobe) and traces of polychrome decoration. Stylistic features, manufacturing technique, and comparative parallels support a dating to the New Kingdom, 19th Dynasty (Ramesside Period), ca. 1292–1186 BCE. The figure preserves clear evidence of ancient usurpation: the original inscription was partially removed and replaced by a shorter secondary text framed in red. The surviving hieroglyphic elements include the personal name Jt.f (jt=f) (“his father”) and the name of Osiris (Wsir), most plausibly representing an abbreviated and fragmentary version of Book of the Dead Spell 6. This release includes structured object metadata, provenance and publication history, detailed inscription commentary, comparative assessment with published museum parallels, and high-resolution photographic documentation. The object is part of the Beckers Ushabti Collection, a research-oriented private collection documenting the development and reuse of Egyptian funerary figurines.
