Beckers Ushabti Collection: Ushabtis and related funerary objects
收藏资源简介:
Version 1.2 Version 1.2 of the Beckers Collection of Egyptian Ushabtis and Related Funerary Objects introduces significant structural and scholarly improvements to the catalogue. The collection is a research-oriented private corpus that documents the development of Egyptian ushabtis from the Middle Kingdom through the Late and Ptolemaic periods, with particular attention to stylistic change, material variation, and funerary practice. This release implements a new secondary catalog code designed to enhance internal classification by encoding chronological attribution, sequence within each period, and material grouping. The established primary inventory numbers (UB-XXX) remain unchanged and continue to serve as the stable citation identifiers. Metadata have been standardized across all objects, material and date assessments refined, and object descriptions revised on the basis of image and 3D analysis. Selected entries now include expanded scholarly commentary and comparative references. Object UB-006 features extended epigraphic documentation addressing its usurped inscription and historical context. The catalogue architecture has been reorganized to support academic use, long-term digital preservation, and reliable citation. Earlier versions remain fully citable, and object-level DOIs may complement the collection DOI where appropriate.
