Beckers Ushabti Collection: Ushabtis and related funerary objects

Version 1.4 (Interim Release) of the Beckers Collection of Egyptian Ushabtis and Related Funerary Objects introduces: This release contains an updated and extended digital catalogue of the private Ushabti Collection compiled by Dirk Beckers. The catalogue provides structured object documentation with bilingual metadata (German / English), provenance and acquisition records, comparative references to museum collections, and a complete bibliography. All individual object sheets and the full catalogue are generated automatically from the metadata. Whenever information is based on auction catalogues, seller descriptions or external expert opinions, this is explicitly stated using phrases such as: “according to auction information” “published by” “expert evaluation” Objects identified as modern reproductions are clearly labelled accordingly. Status of photography This is an interim release. Studio photography is currently being improved and standardized (consistent lighting, color control card, scale reference). Additional documentation, including UV photography for selected objects (e.g., UB-006), will be included in a future release.
