A registered site is a site or “natural monument whose conservation or preservation presents from an artistic, historical, scientific, legendary or picturesque point of view, a general interest”.

Registration is an acknowledgement of the quality of a site justifying monitoring its evolution, in the form of a consultation with the architect of the Bâtiments de France on the works undertaken there.

登记在册的遗址（registered site）是指从艺术、历史、科学、传奇或景观美学视角考量，其保护与留存工作具备普遍公共价值的遗址或‘自然纪念物’。
登记程序是对遗址品质的正式认定，该认定可为开展遗址演变监测提供正当依据，具体实施形式为就该遗址内开展的工程，与法国建筑遗产署（Bâtiments de France）的建筑师开展磋商。
