Landfill dismantling

The deposit of waste in landfills can pose risks to the environment and health due to pollutants in the waste and environmental transformation processes in the landfill body. In landfills, however, there are also recyclable materials that can be used again in times of growing resource requirements. In the report "Landfill Dismantling", the Federal Environment Agency provides an overview of the current status of landfill dismantling and analyses the possibilities for landfill mining in Austria. For this purpose, the previous experience in landfill dismantling in German-speaking countries is presented and the technical aspects are documented. Based on the amount of waste and waste types deposited in Austria, the existing resource potential is estimated, an economic evaluation is carried out and the climate relevance of recyclable material recovery is analyzed.垃圾填埋场的废弃物堆存，因废弃物内含污染物以及填埋体内部的环境转化过程，会对生态环境与人体健康构成风险。但与此同时，填埋场中亦留存有可回收材料，在资源需求日益增长的当下可被重新投入使用。由德国联邦环境署（Federal Environment Agency）编制的《垃圾填埋场拆除》（Landfill Dismantling）报告，概述了当前垃圾填埋场拆除的行业现状，并分析了奥地利开展填埋场采矿（landfill mining）的可行性。为此，报告梳理了德语国家在垃圾填埋场拆除领域的既往实践经验，并对相关技术要点进行了归档记录。基于奥地利境内已填埋的废弃物总量与品类，报告估算了其现存资源潜力，开展了经济可行性评估，并针对可回收材料回收利用的气候相关性展开了分析。
