This dataset is developed to address the critical demands for environmentalization of power equipment and the construction of green power grids, aiming to systematically evaluate the insulation and arc-quenching performance of the environmentally friendly novel insulating gas CF3SO2F and its mixture with N2 as potential alternatives to the potent greenhouse gas SF6. The dataset is generated from systematic theoretical calculations and experimental studies, adopting multiple methods including first-principles calculations, Gibbs free energy minimization method, Townsend scattering experiments, and analytical solution of the Boltzmann equation. Its core content covers the equilibrium composition of decomposition products and key physical property parameters of the CF3SO2F/N2 mixture system at high temperatures, the spatial distribution of electron number density in discharge plasma, as well as the thermal reduced breakdown field strength under varying temperatures, air pressures and mixing ratios. It includes key performance maps of this gas spanning from microscopic decomposition mechanism, mesoscopic discharge dynamics to macroscopic insulation strength, providing indispensable foundational data support for the research and development of novel environmentally friendly insulating gases, the design optimization and simulation of electrical equipment such as GIS and circuit breakers, and the investigation of discharge physical mechanisms.
