The Open Paradigm: A Systematic Analysis of Evolutionary Frameworks and Cross-Sectoral Applications in Data-Driven Ecosystems

This repository contains the full paper The Open Paradigm: A Systematic Analysis of Evolutionary Frameworks and Cross-Sectoral Applications in Data-Driven Ecosystems. The study presents a systematic literature review that critically examines emerging open models — Open Banking, Open Finance, and Open Insurance — through an evolutionary, comparative, and multidisciplinary lens. Drawing from the analysis of 274 peer-reviewed studies published between 2015 and 2024, the paper identifies five foundational pillars that support these models: inclusion, interoperability, innovation, security, and consumer empowerment. Beyond the financial sector, the study demonstrates how open principles are successfully being adapted across domains such as healthcare, education, and public services, indicating a broader paradigm shift in data-driven ecosystems. The paper also introduces methodological contributions by adapting PRISMA guidelines to fast-evolving phenomena regulated by APIs and data protection frameworks. This publication is intended to support researchers, policymakers, and practitioners in designing more inclusive, interoperable, and citizen-centric digital ecosystems.
