Anti-Cholinesterase and Anti-Neuroinflammatory Profiles of Bioactive Constituents from Murraya koenigii in Alzheimer’s Disease

Alzheimer’s disease remains a major global health challenge, with current treatments providing only symptomatic relief without halting disease progression. This study aims to isolate bioactive constituents from M. koenigii leaves with anticholinesterase and anti-inflammatory activities, and to elucidate their potential molecular mechanisms of action. Mahanimbine exhibits strong cholinesterase inhibition, particularly against BChE, while the essential oil demonstrates notable anti-inflammatory and anti-AChE activities. These findings highlight the therapeutic potential of M. koenigii leaves as a source of bioactive compounds for neurodegenerative disease management.
