Municipal solid waste generation and collection projections by waste-management planning region in Azerbaijan, 2022–2036

This dataset presents municipal solid waste generation and collection projections for waste-management planning regions in Azerbaijan for the years 2022, 2029, and 2036. The dataset was compiled from published waste-management planning information and the National Waste Management Strategy of Azerbaijan, with regional values organized into a structured and machine-readable format. The dataset includes projected municipal solid waste generation, projected waste collection, collection rates, uncollected waste quantities, uncollected waste shares, and selected growth indicators. Additional derived variables were calculated by the authors, including changes in waste generation and collection between 2022 and 2036, compound annual growth rates, and changes in collection efficiency. The regional classification follows the waste-management planning regions used in the underlying source and should not be interpreted as identical to the current official economic-region classification of Azerbaijan. No missing values were interpolated or artificially generated. Derived indicators were calculated transparently from the published regional projections. The dataset was prepared to support the research article Economic and environmental assessment of municipal waste management in Azerbaijan and may also be used for studies related to municipal waste planning, regional environmental management, circular economy, infrastructure development, resource efficiency, and sustainable development in Azerbaijan.
