Figures, maps and processed outputs for the water systems study

This dataset provides figures, maps, visualization outputs, and documentation files prepared for the research project “Satellite-based assessment of water level variability and economic exposure in Azerbaijan’s Caspian Sea and strategic inland water systems.” The dataset includes a QGIS-based integrated water risk and economic exposure map of Azerbaijan, Caspian Sea satellite altimetry visualization outputs, figure captions, methodology notes, metadata, source links, limitations notes, and citation information. The processed outputs were prepared to support the visualization, documentation, and reproducibility of the water systems study. The map illustrates integrated water risk and economic exposure across Azerbaijan’s Caspian and strategic inland water systems, while the Caspian Sea figures show long-term and recent water level variability based on satellite altimetry observations. The dataset is intended for academic research, article preparation, presentation materials, and open research documentation. It complements the related Zenodo datasets on Caspian Sea water level variability, inland water body altimetry, geospatial inventory, economic exposure, agricultural water dependency, water stress and water-use efficiency, and the integrated water risk and economic exposure index. The included visual materials are processed research outputs and should not be interpreted as official governmental maps, legal boundaries, or official risk classifications.
