NbS Investments Dataset

This dataset is a result of a systematic literature review covering the period 1998 - 2023 and six geographical region of NbS implementation, classified as Europe, Asia, North America, South America, Africa, or Oceania, according to the UN M49 standard. The dataset include 98 papers, collecting 152 case studies, as several papers reported multiple case studies. Each case study was treated as a separate observation in this dataset and reported in a separate row. For each NbS case, the dataset records: (i) the NbS landscape and geographical location; (ii) NbS typology and specific actions; (iii) the financing instruments used for implementation and maintenance, along with the corresponding financing sources; (iv) the financing scale, (v) expected returns on NbS investments and beneficiaries, (vi) investment enablers and barriers; and (vii) NbS case success.
