It scientifically ensures the authenticity and reliability of the collected data, provides more accurate validation for whether the product performance meets qualified standards, and offers reference and technical support for government supervision and enterprise procurement of Rockwell hardness testers with the (20–70) HRC specification. 1. When using standard hardness blocks with hardness values ranging from 20 to 70 HRC to calibrate the indication of a Rockwell hardness tester, perform five measurements to obtain five sets of tester indication readings, then calculate relevant metrics via the following formulas: Average indication reading of the hardness tester = (Indication reading 1 + Indication reading 2 + Indication reading 3 + Indication reading 4 + Indication reading 5) / 5; Indication error = The difference between the standard hardness value and the average indication reading of the hardness tester; Indication repeatability = The difference between the maximum and minimum indication readings of the hardness tester among the five measured points. 2. Per JJG 112-2013 *Verification Regulation for Metal Rockwell Hardness Testers*, the maximum permissible indication error for Rockwell hardness testers with the (20–70) HRC specification is ±1.5, and the maximum allowable indication repeatability is 0.8. A Rockwell hardness tester is deemed qualified only when both of the above two metrics meet the stipulated requirements.
