Secondary statistical dataset on waste generation, maritime freight transport and tourism-related anthropogenic pressure in Azerbaijan's Caspian coastal regions

This dataset presents structured secondary statistics on anthropogenic pressures affecting Azerbaijan’s Caspian coastal areas. It compiles official multi-year indicators on total waste generation, municipal solid waste, maritime freight transportation, tourism activity and accommodation statistics in coastal and coast-related economic regions of Azerbaijan. The dataset includes comparative tables, figures, methodological notes, data limitations and complete references to the official statistical sources. The indicators are intended to support the assessment of waste-related, tourism-related and maritime pressures on coastal ecosystems within the framework of green economy, sustainable coastal management and environmental policy research. The dataset was developed as a supporting secondary-data resource for the study titled “Microplastic pollution and coastal anthropogenic pressure in the Caspian Sea Basin through systematic review and secondary data analysis.”
