Municipalities classified in mountain areas in Burgundy-Franche-Comté

Data extracted from the Observatoire des Territoires website on 02/08/2022 In France, three official and administrative boundaries of the mountains overlap: mountain areas under urban planning law, defining municipalities or parts of municipalities subject to the provisions of the Urban Planning Code — mountain-specific part, \- less-favoured mountain agricultural areas; they are part of a sectoral approach dedicated primarily to agriculture as part of the recognition and compensation of natural handicaps and give rise to the right to aid. This zoning is noted by joint decrees Ministry of Agriculture/Ministry of the Budget, \- finally, a delimitation of the massifs, in accordance with Decree No. 2004-69 of 16 January 2004, serving both as the legal basis for the establishment of institutions enshrined in mountain laws, committees of massifs, and for the allocation of the specific financing mobilised under the interregional plans contracts of massifs such as the FNADT, for example. This indicator corresponds to the first definition of mountain areas and therefore only covers municipalities subject to the urban planning provisions of the Montagne Act.
