Metformin and simvastatin combination treatment regulated genes in HepG2 cells

Metformin and simvastatin, two metabolic-related drugs, have been shown to play important roles in modulating the hypoxic tumor microenvironment and angiogenesis. Whether the combination of metformin and simvastatin could exert a more effective antitumor effect than individual treatments has not been examined. Our group used RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) to examine genes regulated by meformin, simvastatin only, or combination of metformin and simvastatin.
