: An endophytic fungus of ascomycetous origin Phomopsis sp. (KX349881) secreted laccase (one of the cell-wall degrading enzyme) and was irradiated with sub-lethal dose of gamma radiation (1.2 kGy) with an objective to improve the fungal strain for laccase production.The mechanism forming the core of fungal strain improvement for laccase production was unraveled by molecular and mutation studies of the laccase gene.
