It can yield highly reproducible and consistent results in research studies. Boasting strong environmental adaptability and disease resistance, along with a docile temperament and ease of training, it is recognized as an ideal experimental animal, and is widely used in biological fields such as medical research. In 1950, the United States recommended Beagle dogs as standard laboratory animals. In 2003, the World Health Organization (WHO) reaffirmed that Beagle dogs are the preferred standard experimental animals in the biomedicine sector, particularly for preclinical safety evaluation (GLP) studies.
