Building on the energy input data and scenarios for the Monitoring Mechanism 2013, the Federal Environment Agency calculated new energy and greenhouse gas emission scenarios up to 2030, in which additional measures are assumed to be implemented. These additional measures decouple economic growth (an average increase of 1.5% per annum) and final energy consumption (which will fall to 991 PJ by 2030). The share of renewable energy sources would increase by around 10 percentage points to 42.6%.
