Illustrations of the study of the port heritage in Provence-Alpes-Côte-d'Azur

**This dataset includes 3,369 illustrations of the port heritage of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur Region.** The data comes from the regional study of the maritime heritage of ports and port cities, conducted in 2015, as part of the implementation of the Regional Strategy for the Sea and Coastal Region of Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur. The objective of the study was to promote this heritage as a tool for economic development and to support an understanding of the territory and its past and future changes. The scope of the study includes all ports located on the coast of the region and of heritage interest, based on a functional approach that retains 9 heritage areas: Defence of port territory / Beliefs of seafarers / Port signs / Coastal protection / Administration of port activity / Land/sea transition equipment / Trade and production related to the sea / Industrial and commercial activities / Health-related establishments The datasets include a compressed file of 1.2 GB containing the 3 369 illustrations distributed with the Creative Commons licence: Attribution + No commercial use + No modification (BY NC ND): The rightholder authorises the use of the original work for non-commercial purposes, but does not authorise the creation of derivative products.
