Agri-food trade structure indicators for assessing TRIPP-related connectivity in the South Caucasus

This dataset provides comparative agri-food trade indicators for Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, and Türkiye to support an ex-ante assessment of the potential effects of the proposed Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity (TRIPP) on regional trade connectivity. The dataset focuses on the structure of merchandise and food trade and includes indicators related to total merchandise exports and imports, food exports and imports as shares of merchandise trade, estimated food trade values, trade balance, and export–import coverage. The data were compiled from publicly available international statistical sources, primarily the World Bank World Development Indicators, with underlying trade statistics from UN Comtrade, the World Integrated Trade Solution (WITS), and World Trade Organization sources. FAOSTAT agrifood trade statistics were additionally used as a contextual reference. The dataset covers Azerbaijan, Armenia, Georgia, and Türkiye and represents Stage 2 of the empirical data-development process for the research project titled “Assessing the potential effects of the proposed TRIPP transit route on digitalized agri-food trade connectivity and the green economy transition in the South Caucasus.” This dataset is intended for comparative analysis, trade-connectivity assessment, scenario development, visualization, and subsequent integration with digitalization and green economy indicators. No primary surveys, interviews, field observations, or experimental data were used.
