A dataset for several samples visually interpreted from the very high-resolution images from Google Earth for rice mapping research in China. The file format is GeoParquet, and the geometries are Polygons, which contain three fields: covertype, region, and year, which represent the covertype code, the name of the provincial administrative region, and the year of the polygon, respectively. The meanings of the covertype codes are as follows: 0: non-cropland (natural vegetation, built-up areas, water bodies...) 1: single-season rice (certain) 2: double-season rice (certain) 3: rice (uncertain whether it is single- or double-season rice) 4: other crops (maize, soybean, peanut...) 5: non-rice (maize, soybean, peanut, natural vegetation, built-up areas, water bodies...)
