Renewable Energy Atlas Flanders – Additional potential energy production from ground-coupled heat pumps – REV2030 scenario

This map layer is part of the Renewable Energy Atlas Flanders. In the ‘Space for Energy Flanders 2030’ scenario (REV2030), the additional production potential for ground-coupled heat pumps that can be realised within the available space is mitigated on the basis of a potential figure projected for 2030, taking into account the current context and policy objectives. We are limited here to the non-built-up area of the residential area excluding the protection zones for water catchment areas, non-accessible gardens and areas that already have a ground-coupled heat pump. For the estimation of production potential, use is made of the Database Sub-soil Flanders and Characteristics of Terra Energy. Data on current trends will then reduce this maximum potential to 1 %. The figures per municipality can also be found in the attached table.
