Energy and greenhouse gas scenarios 2023.

The Federal Environment Agency, in cooperation with experts from CESAR, e-think, TU Graz and TU Wien, creates scenarios for the development of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions at regular intervals for the EU reporting obligation under the Governance Regulation. The WEM scenario shows the development with existing legally valid measures.
The WAM scenario depicts measures that Experts estimate as likely and expected to be implemented.
The Transition scenario shows the path to a climate-neutral Austria.
Climate neutrality 2040 means lower energy consumption, a switch to renewable energy sources (electricity, hydrogen, biogenic) and virtually greenhouse gas-free buildings and mobility.
Unavoidable emissions should be compensated.
