It provides county-level severe weather event counts and damage totals for all US counties from 2000 to 2023, derived from the NOAA National Centers for Environmental Information Storm Events Database. Events are grouped into 5 categories relevant to bridge deterioration: flood, wind, hail, winter storms, and tornadoes. The dataset includes single-year counts and 5-year rolling sums to capture cumulative storm exposure. Each row corresponds to a county and year combination, with the primary key being county FIPS code and year. Data processing includes expanding winter storm events from NWS forecast zone level to county level and parsing property damage strings to USD floats.
