Inventory of ODAP Public Algorithms

Inventory of algorithms developed and implemented by central administrations, carried out by the Observatory of Public Algorithms (ODAP). For each algorithm listed, the inventory shall, if the information is available, provide information on: - The context in which the algorithm was designed (project institutions, partners, budgets, etc.), which influences the scope and limits of its use. - The technical aspects of the algorithm (models, training data) that directly shape the results obtained. - The current regulatory framework, which guides or restricts its possible uses. - Available documentation (source code, articles, institutional sites, etc.). - Evaluations carried out by the administration itself or by third parties. In its first version (November 2024), the inventory takes into account: - All types of algorithmic systems, whether based on machine learning (deep learning), rules systems (example: compute files), or other technologies, and whether or not they are involved in decision-making. - Algorithms developed or used by central administrations and state agencies, excluding, for the moment, local and regional authorities and the hospital civil service. - Algorithms that are publicly documented: either in documents of the administrations themselves or by third parties. The inventory of ODAP's public algorithms does not claim to be exhaustive and will be updated on a regular basis.
