Forest functions in Saxony — Forest with special soil protection function and soil protection forest according to the Saxon Forest Act — Areas 1 ha

The data set contains forest areas (1 ha) with special soil protection function as well as soil protection forest in the Free State of Saxony. Soil protection forest according to the Saxon Forest Act (SächsWaldG) protects its location from erosion by water, wind, rockfall and soil creeps. Forest with special soil protection function has the same protective purpose as soil protection forest and protects areas that are not protected under the SächsWaldG. The data is used for the forest function map 1:25,000 of Saxony.
