AOS: Fine Condensation Particle Counter, 10 nm detection limit

The maoaoscpcfS1.b1 datastream contains measurements of aerosol concentration from the Aerosol Observing System (AOS) Fine Condensation Particle Counter with a detection limit of 10 nm. This instrument measures sub-micron aerosol particle number concentration by growing the particles to a size that is easily detectable and countable by optical scattering, using a condensing liquid such as butanol or water. The data were collected at Facility S1 (Manacapuru, Amazonas, Brazil; MAOS), which is located at the MAO site (Manacapuru, Amazonas, Brazil; Mobile Facility for GOAMAZON), between January 29, 2014, and December 1, 2015.
