Ramsar-based structured wetland and waterbird data for Gyzylaghaj, Azerbaijan

This dataset contains author-prepared structured wetland and waterbird data derived from publicly available Ramsar Sites Information Service materials for the Gyzylaghaj Ramsar Site, Azerbaijan. The dataset was prepared for academic use in a comparative study of wetland bird observation, birdwatching ecotourism potential, and green economy opportunities in Shirvan and Gyzylaghaj National Parks. The structured Excel file summarizes key Ramsar-based indicators, including site identity, site number, designation date, area, coordinates, wetland components, waterbird importance, bird species richness, wintering waterbird numbers, breeding colony data, conservation-relevant species, ecological threats, tourism potential, and conservation measures. The dataset is based on Ramsar Sites Information Service materials for Ghizil-Agaj, including the Ramsar site profile, Ramsar Information Sheet, and related map material. The original Ramsar documents are not redistributed in this dataset. Only author-structured indicators extracted from publicly available Ramsar materials are provided for research transparency, supplementary analysis, and academic reuse. This dataset supports a broader research article comparing the ecological, ecotourism, and green economy potential of wetland bird observation in Shirvan and Gyzylaghaj National Parks.
