Annual soil sealing map (JaarBAK), 1 m resolution, 2015

This map shows a selection of the centres where there is an insufficient mix of basic services. Basic services are services needed to organise daily life and participate in society. Examples are: nursery and primary school, childcare, general practitioner, pharmacy, food shop, post (point) and meeting rooms inside and outside (Verhout et al., 2016). In the case of basic services, it is important to have a sufficient mix of such facilities at a accessible distance. In order to be able to live a living place, you must be able to reach at least a baker or a butcher or a small food store, a doctor, a pharmacist, and a primary school or nursery school within 17 minutes of walking distance. For the cores, the algorithmically generated cores as described in the technical report were used: VERMEIREN Karolien, Poelmans Lien, Pisman Ann, Vanacker Stijn, Willems Peter and Guy Engelen (2018), Kernen, ribbons, scattered buildings in Flanders.
